A little more about Lauren…
For those of you who have started the college search, you can easily relate to the overwhelming feelings I am experiencing.
The idea that in two years I will be getting ready to graduate, and most likely know where I will be attending school is simply scary. To me two years does not seem like enough time to fit in everything I need to. For instance I still have to take the ACT and SAT. Although I may only take one or the other, because lets be honest, they are two very hard, very important, and very different tests. I must continue to do is keep up my grade. Currently I have above a 4.0, and it took a lot of hard work to get it to where it is, but I know that this upcoming school is going to be a very hard year considering it will be my junior year. I will also have to continue to do is service work, though I love to do it, so it is not a chore for me.
As I sit here writing this blog entry I am figuring out how much I still have to do, though I won’t list it all to you, because that would be a bore. Through my college search, one thing that I have learned is that at first it is hard to balance schoolwork, volunteering, and a job, with the social aspects of high school. One thing that I discovered is that study groups allow you to work on school related things and still socialize. Something that I am very excited to begin doing this summer is touring colleges in the Midwest. Also, this fall I will be touring North Carolina Chapel Hill, my dream school, and I couldn’t be more excited!
