“I like taking an idea that I’ve imagined and seeing it come to life,” says alumna Olivia Hegner ’14 M.Arch ’15. “One minute you’re struggling with a problem and the next minute there’s a beautiful rendering on the wall or a model you made.”
Olivia, who served as lead editor for the Wentworth Architecture review (WAr) during her time on campus, counts the cooperative learning program as among the most rewarding aspects of the Wentworth experience.
“Senior year I did my third and final co-op at Cambridge Seven Associates in Harvard Square, where I worked on a luxury high-rise project,” she says. “Now that I’ve graduated, I have an even deeper appreciation for how Wentworth prepared me to interact with professionals in the field—not just thanks to co-op, but because of all the opportunities they offer.”
Olivia completed Wentworth’s Master of Architecture program in April 2015 and accepted a full-time position as an architectural designer with her one-time co-op employer, Cambridge Seven Associates.
“Wentworth prepared me with the perfect foundation for my career,” she says. “I want to say I was extremely lucky to make the connection with Cambridge Seven, but I know that many of my classmates had similar experiences. Everyone at the college goes out of their way to make sure you’re successful, and I couldn’t be more proud to call myself an alum.”
