Art Name: Karly
Artist: Cheyenne Raker
School: Westerville South
What I like about it:
Her description of drawing the girl in front of her and never looking down at the paper reminded me of Willem De Kooning and Woman IV. The contemporary artist has always appealed to me in that sort of free form and seemingly aggressive way to create his work. Cheyenne’s work speaks to that contemporary feel and that marvelous surrealism of painters from a century ago. I am truly impressed.
