A little more about Madeline…

Hi Guys!
Although it may seem pretty scary, college and career searching is actually a really good way to find out who you are and who you want to be! I must have gone through at least 10 different majors before I picked one, and that’s the best part; you can research and try out things without the commitment. An easy way to begin your major search is to make a list of things you enjoy doing.

I love interacting with animals, so I chose Biology as my major, but I also love piecing together facts and history, so I chose Anthropology. College searching was super cool, because I spent my spring break touring colleges all over my state to pick and choose what parts of each college I liked and disliked to give me a better idea of what I’m looking for in a school. Since there are so many different types of schools in so many different places, it’s a good idea to make a checklist of things you do and don’t like, then use that to determine what schools you’re interested in. My ideal college is in/near a big city, has a meduim-large student body, has a football team, and has my selected majors.

Though you may think you know exactly what you want, it’s a good idea to visit colleges that are different from what you’re interested to make sure you know what you want. What you discover during your college searching may surprise you.
