Hey everyone! Time is going by really quick these days, and my high school career is, dare to say it, almost over. And I can do nothing but breathe a sigh of relief, I’m getting an advanced diploma! Yes, that’s right I have basically survived all the AP courses I delightfully signed up for. But enough of my steady sighs of relief, I want to share my top 5 pre ACT, SAT rituals. In my junior year I really had no idea how vital a good score on these exams affected scholarships and acceptance.
1. Take the PSAT your junior year, and take your PACT.
I know, I know who wants to go to school on a Saturday to take a four hour test?…I did.
ok no I didn’t, I just knew I had to, in order to have success on that exam.
2. Buy the study guide book people! To be honest, I did not buy the book but I know a friend who made a 34 on the ACT using the book. No, she did not buy the book to collect dust, she studied every weekend with a tutor.
3. Ask your prior teachers to give you extra worksheets. Yes, I said extra work you read right! These tests cover some big topics from all high school classes.
4. Don’t eat a good breakfast the morning of the test… eat a fantastic one! No one wants to hear your hungry belly growl because you didn’t eat. It’s hard to concentrate when you are daydreaming about cookies the whole time.
5. Last but not least, do some math problems guys. Math sneaks up and bites you in the buttocks! This is nothing but the truth. I’m not talking about addition and subtraction, I’m talking algebra 2 and that trigonometry stuff you continued to fall asleep on during class.
Just remember at the end of the day, these tests are a big deal. Yes, they cost money too so it’s not too smart to go and take it ten times. Until the next time peace out!

P.s. If I had an endless supply of cookies, I would be the happiest black man the world has seen to date, and quote.
